Part of the ‘Great Inland Way’ Coonamble is situated on the ‘underground’ Castlereagh River in North-West NSW, approximately 6.5 hours drive from Sydney.

Coonamble (2829) is a suburb of Regional NSW, Central West Slopes, New South Wales. It is about 418 kms from NSW’s capital city of Sydney. Coonamble is in the federal electorate of Parkes. In the 2011 Census the population of Coonamble is 2,998 and is comprised of 50.6% females and 49.4% males.
Johnny Dunn the bushranger and last of the Ben Hall gang was captured near Coonamble after a gunbattle with Police at Christmas 1865.
Coonamble hosts an annual rodeo that is the largest campdraft/rodeo in the Southern Hemisphere around 1,000 people annually come to compete in the rodeo with an average of about 4,000 spectators. More Information
