A beautiful region to visit!

The Coonamble Shire has a total population of 4030 (ABS 2011 Census). The township of Coonamble has a population of just under 3000 people. There are two villages in the Shire, Gulargambone, with a population of around 500 people and Quambone, with around 100. Residents of rural properties make up approximately one third of the district population. Coonamble is a great central location to explore the region’s natural attractions. Our people are very friendly with lots of local characters to meet.

Coonamble is situated in North-West NSW, approximately 6.5 hours drive from Sydney.

Gulargambone

Gulargambone is situated on the Castlereagh River, 48km South of Coonamble

Quambone

Quambone is home to Macquarie Marshes and situated 55 kilometres West of Coonamble
